The Haas Scholars Program at UC Berkeley

The Robert & Colleen Haas Scholars Program at the University of California, Berkeley funds financial aid eligible, academically talented undergraduates to engage in a sustained research, field-study or creative project in the summer before and during their senior year at Berkeley. Each year, twenty Haas Scholars are selected from all disciplines and departments across the University on the basis of the merit and originality of their project proposals.

The application deadline for 2009-2010 was FEBRUARY 17, 2009. If you are considering applying for next year, please read the "applying" page carefully to see if you are eligible for the program and able to make the commitments required by the program. Then contact Leah Carroll (contact info below) to get connected with current scholars and get samples of successful proposals; then begin showing drafts of your proposal to your mentor and Leah Carroll. At least three rounds of feedback and revision are recommended: start early! More hints on how to proceed are here.
