Hints on making good posters A good poster aims to communicate the same information as an abstract (see hints for writing abstracts), but it should be visually attractive, and the information should be presented in such a way as to invite the viewer to ask the presenter questions. Here are some links on what makes a good poster -- although they are aimed at students from specific disciplines, all are relevant for all disciplines: This one is aimed especially at students in the biological sciences: http://ib.berkeley.edu/biappe/design.type.html And these are aimed at students in engineering http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/Programs/ugrad/UgradResearch/katz_postertips.htm http://research.berkeley.edu/haas_scholars/documents/engpost.html Download a presentation by Kim Keeton on "Sharing Your Results: How to Create a Winning Poster" |
