This workshop is open to all students in any discipline. Freshmen and sophomores, as well as upperclass students, are strongly encouraged to attend. You should attend this workshop if you are an undergraduate at UC Berkeley who is considering any or all of the following options:
The workshop is open to all students in any discipline or class level, although you should come to the workshop with a specific topic in mind. It is particularly geared for upperclass students, who already have a broadly defined area of research interest and are interested in focussing and refining their research goals. Students are encouraged to attend Workshop A first. Workshops are offered on a regular basis from the late summer through March. See this page for upcoming times, dates, and locations. These individual advising sessions are geared for students who have already attended Workshop B and/or who have a draft proposal in hand. If you are applying for a program other than the Haas Scholars Program, you should probably ask the program coordinator of that program for advice first, but the Haas Scholars Program coordinator is also sometimes available for additional consultation.
