News from the 1999-2000 Cohort of Haas Scholars

The 1999-2000 Haas Scholars first met each other at the New Scholars Reception and lunch at the April 2000 Haas Scholars Conference.

Work began in earnest at the June 2000 Haas Scholars Retreat.

Dean of Undergraduate Education Carolyn Porter (left) enjoyed an impromptu guest appearance by Chancellor Robert Berdahl on the patio of the Faculty Club. The Chancellor reminded the new scholars of Robert and Colleen Haas's generous commitment to provide outstanding Berkeley undergraduates who have financial need with the time and resources necessary to pursue their research and creative goals.
