Finding Undergraduate Research Programs

Every undergraduate major offers you an opportunity for independent study or research, as well as a chance to do a thesis or senior research project. But many special programs on campus offer additional resources, as well as opportunities for funding.

Apprenticeship programs can help you find and connect with a mentor. Programs that provide funding can allow you to purchase equipment or supplies, pay subjects, travel to collect data or attend a conference, or just to have enough money to work full time on your research - and pay the rent.

Many research programs offer extra guidance, with staff members who help keep you on track and a cohort of fellow scholars to offer feedback, encouragement, and friendship. And, of course, these are awards that help you achieve recognition for your accomplishments.
