Pan-Tilt Motorization Adaptive Control Deployment
I’m working with Professor Agogino and Douglas Hutchings and fellow URAP researchers in the BEST Lab (Berkeley [Emergent Space Tensegrities | Energy and Sustainable Technologies | Expert Systems Technologies ] Lab) on creating an autonomous motorized pan-tilt system for a new state-of-the-art methane sensor system. Our motivation behind this project is to solve the issue of oil and gas facilities being heavily penalized for inaccurate methane emission reports by automating the process for more reliable data reporting and to remove people from performing these dangerous tasks in dangerous environments. This summer, I’m focusing on polishing the motorization functionality of our pan-tilt system and deploying adaptive control scan algorithms on real hardware.

Thank you to my donor for supporting this opportunity to continue my research at BEST Lab this summer! As someone deeply committed to contributing to robotics technologies that reduce repetitive and dangerous tasks to improve human life quality, I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue doing exactly that this summer!
