Civilian Interactions with Law Enforcement
I am beyond excited to be performing research at the intersectionality of politics and psychology. The focus of this research involves examining how law enforcement agencies across the United States engage with members of their respective communities. Through a combination of literature reviews, web-scraping, and field experiments, this research aims to evaluate measures of authenticity among law enforcement agencies. Comparing published mission statements, reported conduct, and interactions with community members, I hope to evaluate potential disparities between espoused goals and practice. It is our hope that this research will have profound implications, helping to inform future reform efforts and ensure that law enforcement agencies are operating in lines with their purported goals.
