Redefining the Role of Legal Professionals in Collaborative Settings

Scholars Journal

Christina’s research examines judges, public defenders, and district attorneys in criminal law who serve on collaborative and adversarial courts. Shedding light on how working in a collaborative setting can cause transformation with how some professionals identify with their roles as legal practitioners. Collaborative courts are removed from mainstream legal discourse as well as from the standard authority of the legal profession, creating a space for legal practitioners to engage with the law entirely differently. Her study seeks to demonstrate the intricacies of therapeutic justice practices and their effects not only on the participants but also on the legal professionals who employ them.
