Dear Anselm Fund--I'd like to express deep gratitude for your generosity in funding my summer research. With your support, I was afforded the precious opportunity to devote my time to exploring and developing interests that I believe will inform my work long into the future. As a double major whose senior thesis needs to serve both majors, I was desperate for an opportunity to put my disparate investments in American Studies and English in productive dialogue with one another. Not only has my SURF experience afforded me this opportunity, but it has also given me a more focused, sustained sense of direction as a scholar. Thank you so much for this privilege.
