Access to Justice in the Civil Legal System
This summer, I will be continuing my work as a research assistant at the Civil Justice Research Initiative (CJRI), a think tank at Berkeley Law. I will be editing research papers on various topics, including class action lawsuits, legal remedies for racial trauma, and the role of lawyers in domestic violence cases. In addition, I will conduct legal research for an amicus brief on arbitration issues and help develop an edited collection on civil rights litigation against police officers who use excessive force. Finally, the CJRI is hoping to receive funding to begin a new project on the utility of medical-legal partnerships for seniors experiencing elder abuse, which (if funding comes through) I will also provide research support for.
