Fabricating Graphene-based FETs

I’ll be working on making devices such as FETs, which are a type of transistor, based on exfoliating thin-layered graphene and transferring them using polymers. This technique allows very thin layers of different materials to be stacked on top of each other. The resulting structures can then be studied under a scan-tunneling microscope (STM) to reveal interesting properties, including ones desirable for devices such as an FET.

Message To Sponsor

I'm very grateful for this chance to continue my research in URAP. This lab is one of the first times I've been able to see the material I've learned be applied to the real world, and the impact it's had on me has been absolutely life-changing. Being able to work on projects I'm passionate about with all the great people I've met has been an amazing and priceless experience. I really appreciate this opportunity and I'm looking forward to the work I'll be doing this summer.
